Overview

Ballot is a Solana launchpad for pairing memecoins to US politics. You can pair a coin to any current member of Congress, the President, the Vice President, the mayor of the largest city in every state, a political party, a chamber, a caucus or a state.

Every coin launches on pump.fun. Ballot builds the coin's details and the launch transaction; you approve it in your own wallet.

Pairing

Pairing means the coin is created around a subject. A politician's portrait becomes the coin's image. You name the coin and pick its ticker yourself; the ticker box suggests one.

SubjectWhere to find itSuggested ticker
Senator / RepClick their state on the map, or search on the Launch pageLast name, e.g. $SMITH
MayorOpen a state; the mayor of its largest city is first. Or search a city on the Launch pageLast name

Chamber / caucusOverview rail → Chambers & caucusesShort name, e.g. $HFC

The coin name starts empty so you can call it whatever you like.

Launching

  1. Pick a subject and set the name, ticker, optional description and dev buy: pick 0.01, 0.5, 1 or 5 SOL, or type any amount up to 85 SOL (0 for no dev buy).
  2. Press Launch coin. Ballot stores the coin's image and details on IPFS through Pinata.
  3. PumpPortal builds the pump.fun creation transaction, which includes your dev buy.
  4. You approve it once in your wallet (Phantom, Solflare or Backpack). The transaction is sent to Solana through Helius.
  5. When it lands, Ballot shows the coin's contract address with links to pump.fun and the transaction.
You need a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare or Backpack) and enough SOL for the dev buy plus about 0.03 SOL in fees.

Rules

  • Every coin's description includes a line saying it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the person, party, group or state it's paired to. This line can't be removed.
  • Coin names and tickers can't contain the word "official".
  • Ballot doesn't stop more than one coin being paired to the same subject.

The map

The map has three colour modes:

  • 2024 result: each state's presidential margin, from D+30 to R+30.
  • Senate: each state's two senators: two Democrats, two Republicans, a Democrat and an Independent, or split.
  • House: how Democratic or Republican each state's House delegation is.
  • Gold dots: battleground states, decided by under 3 points in 2024 (shown in the 2024 result mode).

Opening a party recolours the map by that party's share of each state's members of Congress.

Data sources

DataSource
Members of CongressThe public-domain congress-legislators dataset, loaded live when the page opens
MayorsThe mayor of each state's largest city (and DC), checked against city and news sources on 2 Nov 2026
PortraitsOfficial congressional portraits (US government works, public domain); Wikipedia/Wikimedia photos for the executive branch and mayors
2024 resultsState tallies from The Green Papers; Utah from the certified state canvass
State shapesUS Census state boundaries, built into the page
Electoral votes2020 census apportionment (used for 2024 and 2028)

The member list updates when the dataset does, so a new Congress appears once its members are sworn in.

Fees

Ballot adds no fee of its own. You pay pump.fun's standard fees on the dev buy and Solana network fees. Creator fees from trading go to the wallet that launched the coin, under pump.fun's rules.
